14-06-2013 - UMS Group Europe organizes workshop on PAS55 and Risk Management
After successful editions in The Netherlands and Denmark, UMS Group Europe will organize another workshop on PAS 55 and Risk Management. The workshop is planned for the first week of September in Helsinki, Finland.
For many years UMS Group has been advising clients on how to implement the best practice standard for managing physical assets, PAS 55. Quite frequently we are receiving feedback that PAS55 is difficult to implement and use in day-to-day business. In addition to this, members of the ISO 55000/PAS 55 forum on LinkedIn, which UMS Group Europe is facilitating since May 2009 and which currently has over 3000 members, also wonder about the business case for PAS 55.
This question is reflective of the fact that many asset managers wrestle with how to sell PAS 55 internally to their executive management. In a number of recent projects to help clients implement PAS 55 or prepare for PAS 55 certification, we have been asked for advice on developing a value case to support the implementation of this management system. Asset Managers are looking for an answer to the question of how to get executive attention focused on the need for PAS 55 certification and how to get executives to commit their time to support this effort without a solid business case. The simple answer is that they cannot. Like all other investment opportunities, a decision to pursue PAS 55 should be based upon a business case that demonstrates that the value is greater than the cost.
The workshop is based on these topics and is especially developed for professionals who are involved or responsible for the implementation of Risk Management or PAS55 certification. In the workshop we will explain the meaning of Risk Management and PAS55 for your company and provide you with more in-depth knowledge about the benefits of PAS55. This workshop will offer you and your co-workers valuable tools to make the decision regarding PAS55 or ISO 55000 and the expertise to present the business case on PAS55 on board level.
The workshop will be presented by Mr Jan Schipper, Jan has more than 20 years of experience in Asset Management in the Energy & Utility market and is internationally recognized as a thought leader in this area.
Participation costs for this one-day workshop are € 675,00 (including lunch and network reception). If you are interested in participating or if you would like to receive additional information, please contact Marie-Louise van Rossum at mvanrossum@umsgroup.com or by phone +31 20 561 7033
